Why us

Why brake dust is different

Brake dust is not dirt. It is hot metallic particles that embed themselves into the wheel finish and then corrode there. That is why scrubbing barely works and why wheels look permanently dull after a couple of years.

A ceramic coating on the wheel gives that dust nothing to bond to. It rinses off. The difference is most obvious on performance brakes, where owners typically go from a weekly fight to a rinse.

The three levels below differ by how much of the wheel gets coated and whether the wheels come off to do it. Wheels must stay with us a full 24 hours to cure properly.

  • Brake dust releases instead of baking on

The single biggest practical difference. Wheels that used to need scrubbing come clean with a rinse and a light wash.

  • The finish stops degrading

Embedded brake dust corrodes wheel finish over time. A coating stops that contact, so the wheels still look right in three years.

  • Inner barrels get covered too

Levels 2 and 3 coat the inner barrel, which is where the worst build-up happens and the hardest place to clean by hand.

  • Pairs with any paint coating

If you are already booking a ceramic coating, adding wheels is far cheaper than doing it as a separate visit later.

What your quote depends on

Priced by vehicle size:Coupe · Sedan · Midsize SUV · 4 Door Truck · Large SUV · XL SUV

  • Which level you choose, which is mostly about wheels-on versus wheels-off
  • Whether inner barrels are included
  • Current wheel condition and how much build-up needs removing first
  • Wheel size and design, since intricate spokes take longer
  • Whether you are bundling with a paint coating at the same time

Questions people actually ask

Wheel Ceramic Coating FAQ

Which level do I need?

If your wheels are on the car and in normal used condition, Level 1. If they are brand new out of the box, Level 2, because they only need prep rather than correction. If you want the inner barrels done properly on used wheels, Level 3, where we take them off. We will steer you when we quote.

Why do you need the car for 24 hours?

Coatings cure. A wheel coating that gets driven on before it has bonded will not last. Twenty four hours is the minimum for a proper bond, and it is not a step we will skip.

Will it survive brake heat?

Yes. Wheel-specific coatings are formulated for the temperatures wheels actually see, which is why we use those rather than the same product we put on paint.

How long does it last?

The face-only coating is rated at a year. The multi-level coatings last longer depending on the level and how the vehicle is driven and washed. Track use and aggressive wheel cleaners shorten any coating’s life.
